Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed Filip Helander will not play till around February at the earliest after hinting the Swede will not make either St Mirren or Celtic and won’t be available before the break.
Ibrox Noise told you some months ago Helander would be lucky to be back in January, and sadly that’s how it’s played out as the former Bologna man struggles with a nasty knock sustained earlier in the season, and if we can get him fully fit for the early spring we’d honestly be happy with that.
We also told you some months ago Ryan Jack wouldn’t be back till January at the earliest either, and while there were a couple of false dawns a few weeks ago, unfortunately with the ex-Aberdeen man there’s no concrete return in sight and we’re regrettably correct about that one too.
We won’t get everything bang on on Ibrox Noise, but there are stories we HOPE we got wrong and both Helander and Jack are two such, but sadly our info was correct for these two.
And yes, as usual we got abused over the Jack story in particular with accusations of lies in there, but we always bring you our information honestly.
As for Helander, we reckon now at least one CB in January is critical, whether it’s Anderlecht’s Wesley Hoedt or Vitesse’s Danilho Doekhi. Or preferably both.
We don’t believe there’s a way back for fan favourite Niko Katic, unfortunately, and Jack Simpson will leave. Connor Goldson is speculated as moving on too.
So it’s all to play for in there.
