Lammers and Davies start: predicted Rangers XI v Prague

Rangers manager Philippe Clement’s hands are very much tied for the visit of Prague to Ibrox on Thursday, and Rangers’ boss will be missing a number of key players for the latest fixture in group C.

Which basically means his selection will be a bit different to last time, and certainly won’t have John Souttar in defence, meaning it won’t be three at the back either.

So Ibrox Noise takes you through the best guesstimate of what we think Rangers’ manager is likely to go with.

Obviously Super Jack Butland in Goal…

Back four is completely hands tied of Tavernier, Goldson, Davies (if fit) and Barisic. The only alternative to those is Sterling.

Midfield?

We can’t see the manager changing the players who are performing right now, Lundstram is a stick on. Ryan Jack is helping get the best from Tavernier, and we can see him getting the nod again. In fairness the alternative is Jose Cifuentes who is currently on the fringes. Raskin remains injured.

Attacking mid is where it gets interesting. Sima is sure to keep his place, but Cantwell and Lammers? Hard to call that one with Tom Lawrence available again and Scott Wright in form.

Up front obviously Danilo, who is slowly getting his shooting boots back on, even if he missed plenty at the weekend. His assist for Wright showed another string to his bow.

So Ibrox Noise would predict:

Butland; Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic; Lundstram, Jack; Sima, Lammers, Wright; Danilo

This manager likes Lammers. He clearly likes the boy’s workrate but if the performance isn’t there, he might be sacrificed.

But otherwise we think that’s how it’s going to shape up.
