Michael Beale is being strongly linked with a return to Rangers

So it seems like the names are swirling around Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s job, but the one that comes up the most, in hope possibly more than expectation, is former assistant Michael Beale.

The-now Queens Park Rangers manager has had a stonking start to life at Loftus Road, top of the table in England’s Championship with a game in hand, the ex-Rangers number two is absolutely tearing up the management gig on his own and showing how extraordinarily talented he is.

The fact is Gio’s job now looks 100% shoogly peg, with repeatedly ghastly performances and far too many poor results, and he effectively quit himself by confirming if he couldn’t change it, he was gone.

That’s right, he gave essentially a resignation speech, challenging the board to fire him because he isn’t going to quit, and this week’s trip to Italy is almost certainly a slaughtering in waiting, something which may just hurry the deed up.

So, Beale?

He loves Rangers, he adored his time at the club and he’s universally popular among all fans, but can Rangers possibly persuade a man who is loving his time in London to give it up for what is a massive high-risk position at Ibrox?

Well, let’s remember Beale took over at QPR from Mark Warburton whose wheels had come off and they didn’t extend his deal – and with ZERO cash Beale has QPR top of the table.

That, in anyone’s language, is extraordinary.

So Rangers’ board would love a manager who can work miracles with no cash at all, let’s face it. But would he want it?

Yes, Michael Beale wants the Rangers job, but we just don’t know when – is now the right time? He’s not sure, and was VERY careful when speaking about the position recently. He far from ruled it out, but he’s in a very happy place in London now and he’d be taking a massive risk to give that up for the Famous.

But he knows how big we are, he knows all there is to know about Rangers, and we couldn’t be in safer hands if he took over.

Is Michael Beale coming back to Ibrox? Don’t rule it out.

  1. Yes please, after all hes the man that stopped the 10iar,now we know the truth,Gerrard was just a conman,he conned me,
Lets get Beale back where he belongs asap at any cost!
    WATP🇬🇧

  2. No chance!
He’d cost an arm and a leg in wages, we’d need to have the money to pay off Gio first and with uefa breathing down our necks with their financial sustainability nonsense, even if there was money to do all that then there’s none for anything else.

  3. More in hope than expectation. You said it or words to that effect.

I don’t deal in speculation. At all.

I recall boarding a busy subway train going to Ibrox on December 27th 1986. We were playing the Arabs at home and Souness had just signed Graham Roberts. Speculation was constant as to who Rangers’ next big signing would be. The chap who sat down next to me had just finished his shift in a city centre hotel. He informed me, in no uncertain terms, that Kerry Dixon was going to be our next big signing. Subsequently, his forecast never came to fruition.

I told him that I didn’t ever believe anything until it happened and I still adhere to that maximin.

Bin the speculation and let’s see what happens.

  4. Beale isn’t a yes man like Gio he knows what is needed and it isn’t Ross rejects or Mr parks of Hamilton and cheeky boy He would need to pick his own players and get rid of everyone who doesn’t want to play 100% for the BLUE BADGE AND JERSEY The board are a disgrace and let Dave King back he brought us where we are away from fat Ashley WATP

  5. Is a relatively inexperienced Beale the right choice just now? The guy seems like the real deal but he wasn’t some magician who made Gerrard look good. They were a team and we probably wouldn’t have attracted players to Ibrox so easily without Stevie. Beale is on his way to proving his worth on his own but he also has a team around him helping his achievements. No disrespect to QPR but managing in Glasgow is massive by comparison. They have a good fanbase and a nice stadium, etc but the expectations here and patience levels, scrutiny, media hype that go with the job is on another level as he knows too well. You have to remember too that Villa weren’t exactly setting the heather alight prior to Beale taking on the QPR job.

  6. I think gvb will be given till Nov just before world cup starts ,if results haven’t improved they will already have sounded out the replacement, who will get funds in January start the rebuild for the new seasons challenge, with this one a busted flush . NOBODY with any sort of reputation will take over just now imo with dyche (no compensation) Knudsen and Leeds manager being in the running ,if it all pans out .
The glimt manager will probably be favourite with board as similar league , done tremendous in Europe with resources and most importantly humped ang tactically and result wise ,ticks all the boxes 👍😊

  7. we all know what the board will be wanting in the next appointment ‘immediate success at zero cost’. Well this scenario it is not available in any language. Been there before when our board thought that this was the way forward at minimum cost when they made Pedro manager and that was a complete and utter shambles and a costly one at that having to pay two Mexicans and a small fortune in salaries to 4 Portuguese players who were either to old, or zero ability with the one exception being Daniel Candeias who was a miss, discovered only after he left. So….. pay the money for Beale assuming our board can persuade him comeback, or get a no nonsense manager like Sean Dyce who will oust the slackers and demand a work ethic of heart and drive from his players from the training ground to the changing room and onto the park. He is presently unemployed, displays all these attributes and does not suffer fools gladly. And would not cost a transfer that would further drain our bank accounts.

  8. Everyone knows he was the man behind the scenes that made Rangers tick in the Gerrard era. I hope he does get the chance to manage the gers. He has the tactical nounce and the motivational skills to mount a serious challenge to Celtic given a reasonable budget he can rebuild Rangers and make them a force to be feared home and abroad.
