The end of Alfredo Morelos at Rangers as Gio makes huge call

Today’s Alfredo Morelos shocker is exactly what we didn’t need on the eve of the most important match in Rangers’ recent history.

Instead of focusing purely on a colossal night ahead of us, one we are already distant outsiders to prevail in, we instead find ourselves looking at the club dropping Morelos thanks to his absolutely disgraceful conduct at the weekend. And that undermines our endeavours tomorrow even more.

We’re not even going to argue that it’s clear his time at Ibrox is up, because we’ve said that many times before and he’s still here.

Alfredo Morelos, aside Tavernier and Ryan Jack, is the long-serving first team player at the club, so we’re not taking anything for granted with regards him being sold.

But Gio has made his biggest decision yet as Rangers manager by dropping the Colombian, with the support of other senior players.

There is no question Morelos wants to leave Rangers. We guess we were wrong over the Champions League angle, albeit we did present that as our conjecture. That may well apply to Ryan Kent, but Morelos is emotionally and mentally done.

The question now is the sale.

Rangers are quite open now to the sale of the Colombian, given what we’re understanding – the line we’re getting is he still has a future at Ibrox if he proves his attitude and commitment.

But he’s already shown at Easter Road a lack of both.

Rangers haven’t actually missed Morelos this season – we thought we would, but we’ve adapted well to our new star striker, even if defence has been poor.

And Morelos is critically dropped to face PSV.

Gio has made a big statement – there can surely be no way back now for the Colombian.

  1. It’s down to him and his agent to see what can happen . If he goes then we just hope we can get some money, if he stays he needs to be fined and given strict weight loss and attitude training. Either way we need to find another striker before the window closes and GVB needs to fix the defence big time or this season could be over before it’s even started.

  2. Well done gio on this one ,he got away with murder under ged ,has never shown commitment to actually wanting to be at rangers despite us signing him from the unknown finnish league ,turned him in to a multi millionaire, european football ,called up for national team .
His weight is a disgrace for a proffesional footballer ,hasnt bothered his arse to learn the language and disciplinary record shocking ,take the megabucks contract offer off the table rangers and shove him in the reserves ,same applies to the other contract rebel .
Dont want to be here GTF leagues and europe to be contended with ! .

  3. I’m hearing rumours that Morelos turned up drunk to training on Monday. That may be the real reason he’s been dropped. Also hearing Jack has been told to sort his life and dedication out.

  4. Morelos is to hot 🔥 headed for me.When he is playing at his top he can get a goal out of nowhere. But I don’t think we need him anymore,or forward line is looking good , but we are in big trouble with the left side of the defence and needs to be sorted out soon . Shankill Ray ✋

  5. Yea must say I think his time has pasted a good player but think maybe his time would be better used else where

  6. I don’t think anyone’s interested in buying Morelos. He couldn’t get a move when he was doing well, so why should he attract anyone’s attention now? Too much of a liability.

  7. Mr Souness hit the nail on the head from an outside point of view and from a better league ,I always wondered why the bids were not flying in ….he alluded to the fact that his disciplinary record was shocking (yes even from souness) and that is why no one would touch him from top leagues ,add fitness and attitude now ,and we are pretty much screwed for any fee .
However we can remove his rumoured 38000 a week /close on 2 million a year from wage bill .
BYE BYE BUFF…. GOOD RIDDANCE !

  8. We need to get rid and pronto, even before he was injured the writing was on the wall. Flog him before the window closes and before his arse bursts his shorts.
