Some time ago Ibrox Noise brought you the five ‘axes’ – players who had been told they had no future at Rangers and would likely leave.

They were Glenn Middleton, Jakes Hastie, Stephen Kelly, Niko Katic and Jack Simpson.

From what we understand, Kelly is looking at a host of sides both north and south of the border interested in taking him on, and it’s been unofficially confirmed as to what we told you, while Jack Simpson has permission to talk to other clubs.

Jake Hastie, of course, has moved on to Hartlepool, while Middleton’s future destination is unclear but St Johnstone are likely to be interested.

Last but not least is Katic – this one is more variable.

He’s back training but while clickbait sites want to use him as a ‘second chance’ story, we see no evidence yet that Gio wants the Croat on a serious basis.

Indeed, Hadjuk Split want him, but can’t afford Rangers’ £3M asking price – if the hierarchy reduce the price, the big defender will probably switch back to his homeland permanently.

So, as things stand, one has definitely gone, two are working their ticket out, and two are unsure.

Just another day in Rangers’ summer window.

  1. Just another day. With still no one coming in. Now we are getting stories of second rate signings like Boyle being quoted. Getting worried.
