Alfredo Morelos has today dropped a bit of a cryptic message on social media by suggesting he isn’t happy, but will be in the future, and better days are to come.
The striker, who has returned for preseason, is still recovering from the surgery earlier this year, and this message may hint he’s a bit further away from returning to action than initial prognoses indicated.
Morelos hasn’t been in the full on sessions with the squad yet, he’s been in the gym on the bikes, and the exact message, admittedly posted alongside a chirpy face, says:
Yes, all in caps, which technically qualifies as shouting, but we’ll forgive that.
There are three ways to read into it, if we read anything into it.
1: Is the negative ‘he’s not happy at Rangers, and will only be happy when he gets a new club in the future’ deduction. Accurate? Only he’d know.
2: Is the more slightly positive ‘I’m on my way back from the dark days of injury, even if it may take a bit longer’.
3: Is the very positive and reflective ‘I’m coming back, I’ve been fighting but I’m nearly ready to play.”
We don’t actually have a date on his playing return, all we knew was he’d return for preseason. And he has – but he’s not as yet physically ready for fully opposed training.
But it is promising his photo is him happy and positive in the Gers shirt in the gym at Auchenhowie.
We’ll see what it all means in due course.
