Forgotten man Jack Simpson’s Rangers nightmare is to end this summer after the ex-Bournemouth defender was given permission to talk to lower league English clubs, according to sources.

With 3 years left on his deal (expires in 25), the 25-year old qualifies as one of the worst signings Rangers have ever made, possibly exceeding even Jake Hastie for failure. Indeed, in our exposition that we believed the ex-Motherwell man to be our worst, Simpson was just that forgettable we omitted him from our thinking.

No, the former Totten defender (yes, Totten) has been absolutely ghastly for the Famous, and to this day no one can fathom why Steven Gerrard brought him in, given his CV.

The most remarkable thing about Simpson is that he actually managed to make 11 PL appearances with the Cherries, including 6 starts.

Something was very, very wrong with this signing, and it absolutely didn’t work out.

His court case this year, heard in April, in which he was fined around £1000 for reckless driving, definitely didn’t help him, and his time at Ibrox has been one of the most forgettable we ‘can’t’ remember.

The sooner he’s sold to someone, anyone who’ll take him, the better.
