Claims this morning allege Rangers are not in fact interested in Stoke’s Josh Tymon, and go even further to say the club is planning for life WITH Calvin Bassey AND Borna Barisic.

The two have both been linked with moves away, with Bassey interesting a host of European clubs while Barisic has mostly been posited as being dispensable by some Rangers fans eager to see the back of him.

But this morning’s update, albeit not from the most reliable source we admit (not sure a Hibs fan and Bolton supporter is the most clued-up group on Rangers matters), claims the club is NOT working on any alterations on the left side of defence and plans to go into next season with John Souttar, Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic.

Quite frankly, if this is true, we’re more than happy with it.

We’re certainly big fans of Souttar and Barisic, and have more recently been won over by Bassey, so all three would be strong options going forward.

That said, reports from down south still suggest strongly that Villa in particular want Bassey, so while Rangers ‘may’ be planning for life with both he and Barisic, it doesn’t mean a whopping big bid isn’t coming in to sign the Nigerian.

More as it develops.

  1. Would be good to see Bassey stay another season . Barasic is without a doubt a quality player and was immense in gaining 55 however he can be weak and vulnerable in pressure, this is not a good trait. I look forward to seeing Souttar with Goldson . Onwards 56.

  2. We will plan for next season with Barisic and Bassey until an offer comes in for one or both. I’m sure a Gio has eyes on potential replacements.
