Rangers confirm cursed Dundee match WILL take place on Wednesday
Called off again....

Rangers’ cursed match with Dundee WILL officially take place on Wednesday, with St Johnstone kindly agreeing to host the match in the event of the inevitably failed pitch inspection which will take place on Tuesday at Dens.

In a statement on Monday, Rangers said:

“WEDNESDAY’S Scottish Premiership match with Dundee FC will be subject to a pitch inspection tomorrow morning, with weather forecasts for the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday also being taken into account.

Should the pitch at Dens Park again be deemed unplayable or likely to be unplayable, the game will be moved to McDiarmid Park, Perth, with an 8pm kick-off on Wednesday, April, 17.

Following strong representations from Rangers, supporters who have tickets for Dens Park will be able to attend the game at McDiarmid Park, should it move.

Further information will follow tomorrow following the outcome of the pitch inspection. Rangers thanks our supporters for their ongoing patience with this situation.

The club’s dedicated customer service team are standing by to answer any queries travelling supporters may have.”

So, this match, finally, WILL take place no matter what, but may well be getting hosted by St Johnstone, their McDiarmid Park itself no stranger to being a mudbath.

Rangers fans will of course remember our last match there, with farcical monsoon-like conditions and while the visitors won out, it was one of many abysmal performances by the Famous this year.

It was far from a convincing display from Philippe Clement’s men.

So no matter what, the conditions won’t be great on Wednesday but we will have a match.

That is one slight less thing to worry about we suppose.
