£6M for a sicknote? Rangers must NOT sign Abdallah Sima

Rangers cannot sign Abdallah Sima, and no, that’s not the clickbait ‘view’ of some ex-Rangers player, that’s the sensible commentary from Ibrox Noise after the Senegal international was effectively ruled out for the season, after previously already being effectively ruled out for the season in January.

We have to question manager Philippe Clement’s judgement in putting Sima right back into the heart of the team when he clearly wasn’t ready yet – we understand he goes with the advice of the doctors, so then you must equally question them too.

That’s Kemar Roofe then Abdallah Sima to have been sidelined in this way, 15 minutes after kick off to then immediately ‘feel’ something and have to come off.

Either way though, Sima is an injury problem, he’s missed months and months of this season via injury, and is likely to have to sit the rest of it out.

Sorry, can’t spend £6M+ on that, we’ve not got that money to waste on players who won’t be available.

We can be deeply grateful to Michael Beale for managing to get this deal as a loan, and not a permanent, because we already lost out on Danilo this way, at least we hadn’t paid £6M for Sima and lost half of the season.

A loan was risk-free and we do not endorse this deal being made permanent.

Philippe Clement is clear that the injuries must clear up, and they have, in fairness, reduced a bit in number over the campaign.

Instead of 10 being unavailable, sometimes 15 at any given time, these days it’s between 4-8.

It’s better, nowhere near great, but better.

But bringing in a sicknote like Sima and spending £6M on the privilege is just dumb.

Doesn’t matter what they bring to the table football-wise if they’re just going to get injured all the time.

No, it’s a no from us for Sima and we really hope the club shares that view.
