Birmingham City have sacked John Eustace, because he’s not a winner, confirming if there was any doubt that the former Rangers medical services user is not the right man to come anywhere near Rangers.
In a statement, with their club lying 6th, Brum said:
“It is essential that the Board of Directors and the football management are fully aligned on the importance of implementing a winning mentality and a culture of ambition across the entire Football Club. With this in mind, Birmingham City has today parted company with Head Coach, John Eustace.”
Then in a further dig they said:
“A new First Team Manager will be announced in the coming days who will be responsible for creating an identity and clear ‘no fear’ playing style that all Birmingham City teams will adopt and embrace.”
If anything else screamed of how inappropriate John Eustace would be as Rangers manager, this is it.
He has of course publicly denounced the job before anyway, some weeks ago when Michael Beale was still manager, mocking the idea a touch and keeping his distance, but the reality is no one at Rangers wants John Eustace.
If Birmingham dump him because he’s not a winner, he sure as heck isn’t the right stuff for Rangers.
Pretty obvious really.
