Ex-Rangers Alfredo Morelos plagued by ‘grass is greener’ syndrome

Another quick Morelos article, because ‘ol Alfie is in the news again, there’s basically no Rangers going on right now and Scotland v England is tonight. Slow news day? Kind of, but we are amused that after all this time, despite our content on el-bufalo recently, his agent has come out with some curious comments only barely a week or two after getting his move to Santos.

Remember, Morelos could not get a gig for love nor money, so had to be content with moving to Brazil – turns out, he doesn’t want to be there at all, and is already looking for his next move.

He at least gave us at Rangers around 5+ months before banging on about a move away when he originally joined in summer 2017, here he’s barely given Santos even a few weeks.

His agent said:

“Alfredo will definitely not move to any Russian Premier League club in this transfer window.”

Well, obviously, he’s just moved to Santos, no?

“Everything is too slow/long”.

No idea what is meant by this – lost in translation we think on this one. A Russian website translating Spanish or Italian turning into English. Bit of a mess.

“We’re sorry it didn’t work out.”

Bet you are.

But he goes on:

“But all the interested clubs told me they would be close to him. Perhaps the player’s transfer will happen next winter.”

So within only minutes of arriving in Brazil, his agent is already hawking him for an exit. Sound familiar?

Yes, Morelos has permanent ‘grass is greener’ syndrome that no matter where he is, he wants to be somewhere else, somewhere better.

If he got the Premier League and say Wolves, he’d bang on about trying to impress and get a top 6 club.

If he got Spurs, he’d bang on about wanting to be Chelsea. If he got United he’d want City.

He gets City, now he wants Real Madrid. Gets them, then it’s about Saudi.

There’s no real end to Morelos’ desire and ambition and he seems unsettled and always wanting to get the better deal elsewhere.

Be content mate, you play the best sport there is and you’re paid well for it. Maybe stop looking elsewhere all the time?
