Alfredo Morelos still cannot let Rangers go after failing to update his Twitter account with his new club and instead leaving Rangers all over both his BIO and his display pic.

The Colombian, starting his new life in Brazil with Santos, was a divisive and controversial figure his entire time at Rangers, due in part to always talking up his chances of leaving and his ambitions of playing in England.

But now that Morelos has gone, and learned fairly quickly that grass is not greener on the other side, he’s finding Rangers hard to let go and has left his bio as a Rangers player, ditto his photo.

The only thing he changed was his banner, to Santos. His Twitter still reads “jugador profesional de Rangers FC instagram alfredomorelos30 Facebook bufalo2106”.

We’re sure the usual types will smear this content as ‘living in the past’ or ‘he’s gone ffs’ but this is a Rangers interest story and it’s very intriguing to see a guy who was so desperate to get his move away show such pining for us by not properly changing his social media account to his new club.

We know Morelos regrets how it ended at Rangers, we know he wishes he’d left a legend, with his legacy at the club solid and moving on with a heavy heart – sure, the latter may have ended up true, but he tainted himself with so much of his unprofessional conduct.

He looks leaner now, much fitter, and that’s a sad indictment of his apathy towards the end at Rangers that he got himself whipped into shape for his new career but ‘let himself go’ at Ibrox.

Only now that he didn’t get the shiny move he wanted is he seeing how his attitude let him down in Govan.

As a free agent he could and should have had the pick of Europe’s clubs, but he ended up in the backwater of Brazil.

Still, he can’t let us go.
