Michael Beale has confirmed a positive piece of news that Jose Cifuentes will start tomorrow v Livi, making our team prediction a little easier!

The 24-year-old, who made such a strong impression during his late cameo v Servette, is absolutely and has always been completely match fit, but was obviously not up to speed yet with his new team, which can only come with time and playing.

And Beale has confirmed we’ll see him from the start tomorrow, in what could finally see his ‘dream team’ midfield of Cifuentes, Raskin and Cantwell all beginning at Ibrox, in Rangers’ strongest-possible trio through the middle.

Of what we saw of the Ecuadorian, his power, pace and quality absolutely shone midweek, and while the odd pass wasn’t quite on the full wavelength of his team mates yet (one effort was perfect, but James Tavernier certainly wasn’t) he will get up to mental speed with them soon enough.

It didn’t take long for the lad to impress, quality absolutely shines through, and Cifuentes won a lot of admirers very quickly indeed.

It also helps hugely that coming here right in the middle of an MLS season means he’s fit and ready and completely up to speed physically. He’s totally ready to play, and he will tomorrow.

Will Michael Beale make life easier for himself and pick Cantwell and Raskin alongside him – probably not.

Another manager with a bad habit of not picking the strongest players he has from the start, as if he doesn’t want to reveal his full ‘hand’ or indeed power from the word go.

We disagree. Pick the best you have from the start, because anything less leads to inconsistent performances.

And Cifuentes is definitely among the best Rangers have.
