Ibrox Noise sources tell us Rangers have received a number of offers for a well-known midfielder, and the club is considering them.

The source did not reveal the name of the midfielder in question, but the bids are said to be around £1M, and the club has not rejected them out of hand.

The player is not Ryan Jack nor is it Glen Kamara, so that leaves John Lundstram as the likely candidate and we must say, at this moment in time very few fans would complain at his sale, given his poor form last season.

Steven Davis is another possibility, but he’s not our player these days and his situation has very carefully been kept quiet as he tries to regain fitness.

However, £1M doesn’t strike us as the most lavish return on a player who was worth around €10M market value when Rangers signed him, and was the best on earth only 15 months ago. But it’s clear his stock has tumbled massively and while transfermarkt claims his value is currently £7M, we’re not entirely sure we’d agree with that presently.

But £1M would still be underselling rather a lot.

Of course it might not be Lundstram, but the chances are that it is and he’s still well-respected in England, having elected to leave Sheffield when they were relegated from the Premier League.

His stock down there is still fairly high.

If Rangers were to sell for below £4M it would be very, very disappointing.

The player isn’t that popular among Rangers fans these days, his cult figure having diminished a lot the past 12 months – a poor season last year didn’t help his cause.

More as we get it.

  1. Hope we keep him. Always liked Lunny. If he continues with bad form i would sell in January. But just now i’d keep.
