We left this one to digest, but with Rangers’ European squad being announced yesterday, Michael Beale had made some announcements in previous weeks that this squad would give big clues about the players he intended to ship out.

And there are some telling absences, and even curious presences in there which Ibrox Noise will now bring to you.

Ben Davies:

He’s not there – he’s away chatting with Championship sides trying to find a new club, having been told by Michael Beale he’s not part of the manager’s plans going forward. He’s not involved today with an ‘issue’ and his absence from the European squad is telling. He will be gone if a deal can be struck. A truly abysmal signing.

Jon McLaughlin:

First time he’s been dumped from the goalkeeper list, it’s Butland, McCrorie and Wright who make the squad for Europe, and McLaughlin’s finally on the burn list. Beale has, at long las, woken up to how shocking this boy is, although knowing our luck he’ll be on the bench at Killie. How to get shot of him entirely though…

Glen Kamara:

No real surprise there, he’s finished at Rangers. He’s deciding on his next club with Monchengladbach said to be in pole position. He is not in the Euro list and won’t play for Rangers again.

Fashion Sakala:

Yup, he’s gone too. We don’t know how far gone his Saudi chat is, but he was omitted from the Euro team sheet. Soon as a deal can be sorted he’ll be away.

Kemar Roofe:

We didn’t report this one recently but we understand Rangers are trying to find a way to free Roofe from his deal. He’s been excluded from the Euro list and Beale has no patience for the player’s alleged mental health issues. Or ‘attitude’, between you and I.

The big surprise? Scott Wright is there. Only a couple of weeks after Michael Beale announced Wright would have to leave if he wanted minutes, he’s included the winger in the Euro squad. He’s a useful option from the bench in truth, but no more. But it’s still a surprise to see him involved in some level v Servette.

And all new signings, unsurprisingly, are in the squad. Yes, even including brand new addition Jose Cifuentes.
