Glen Kamara has confirmed he will leave Rangers this summer, as the club digs its heels in with a £4M valuation expected to rise with a bidding war as a multitude of sides move in.

Kamara, speaking on international duty, spoke about Rangers in the past tense and admitted effectively he’s seeking his next move by not denying it, as he said:

“Can you assume I’m seriously considering a move? No comment. How do I reflect on my time there? It’s been amazing. Four-and-a-half years I’ll have spent there come this summer. To join such a massive club and have all the support I did, the fans are amazing and depending on where you go next you might never see that again. I had some good times there. We could definitely have done better because with the teams we had we just came up short a few times. But I had a really good time, I won trophies there and did things I’d never done in my career before.”

So now it just waits on the right club bidding for him and Kamara will get his move.

It’s been coming forever, as good as 24 months now – it’s viewed by many that he never truly got over the racism scandal with Sparta Praha’s Ondrej Kudela, and that baggage rather followed him around – his repeated uses of controversial and notoriously attention-seeking lawyer Aamer Anwar didn’t really help his case, and since that moment he’s been searching for his next club.

He was also widely-known to ‘miss’ Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo as both got their big-money moves out, with a hint of his own envy that he didn’t get one.

And now he’s being about as explicit as it gets, talking in the past tense about Rangers.

There’s no question Rangers fans have very much moved on from Glen Kamara, few remain that want to keep the former Dundee man at Ibrox – he downed tools in Govan just like he did at Dundee when he got the move, and he’ll do the same at his next club too.

He gave us a fair amount, not a lot, but a fair amount, and Rangers will certainly profit on him, given he was effectively a free signing.

That’s what we can say about Glen Kamara and the sooner he gets his Rangers exit the better for everyone.
