Alfredo Morelos might be interesting Sevilla and Galatasaray, but Rangers’ Colombian striker could get his dream of playing in England’s Premier League after it emerged that not only Aston Villa are mulling over a move, but Crystal Palace, Everton, Wolves, Burnley and Middlesbrough are also keeping tabs on him.

Four of those are current Premier League teams, while Burnley are expected to gain promotion to England’s top flight next season as well. Middlebrough are likely to make it as well.

Meaning if Morelos has six Premier League sides after his signature, he is near-certain to secure his dream of playing in that division (and probably failing horribly like everyone else who leaves us) and as a free agent that gives him the power to choose his destination.

Sevilla’s pre-contract was on the basis of them securing LaLiga status and staving off relegation, but that also leaves room for rival signatures to push for a fairly lucrative Bosman to take his pick of new club, and Rangers will finally wave goodbye to a player who hasn’t wanted to be at Ibrox for a very long time.

Galatasary are in a decent league and will be a Champions League group member for sure next season, assuming they do, as expected, win the Turkish Super Lig, so they have carrots to tempt Morelos, and Sevilla remain sitting with that contract hoping he’ll sign, but they surely won’t be able to compete with his Promised Land of the Premier League, which is what he wants at the end of the day.

Either way, the chances of Morelos signing a new deal at Ibrox are close to zero, and unless like Connor Goldson he gets no tempting offers (next-to-impossible) and changes his mind to stay at Ibrox, he will be gone this summer and we can all finally move on.

We wait with interest to see what courting club finally gets their hands on Morelos, and just how well he does playing in a big league against world class players every week. But it now seems borderline certain he will leave at the end of this season.

Just where to…
