Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Leeds United, Man Utd and Newcastle are all closely monitoring Rangers’ rising star Leon King amid some excellent performances by the 18-year old defender in both the SPL and the Champions League.

The Auchenhowie graduate has shone in every match he’s featured for Rangers, especially standing out against Ajax as his senior peers floundered in Amsterdam – he was the star defender for the visitors.

But while he conceded a naïve penalty v Liverpool, his performance last week was a major fillip for Rangers at a difficult venue, and the stopper is now catching the attention of the vultures down south.

Contracted till 2024, King came under much hype fairly recently with the potential of him to leave rather than extending his stay, but it was great relief to Rangers when he did eventually commit.

But the lad has talent, and now the vultures down south are monitoring him, and we can assure you there’s more than three clubs looking at King given his impressive displays for one so young.

Indeed, it invokes memories of the very impressive Danny Wilson back in the day, before Liverpool snapped him up for a stunning £4M, and Rangers won’t want to lose King who is viewed as a real star of tomorrow for Rangers.

But money always talks, and Newcastle especially have a lot of it…
