Rangers’ Morelos ‘offered’ to Fenerbahce as agent seeks out move

Claims from Turkish outlet Takvim allege today that Alfredo Morelos’ agent has offered him to Fenerbahce, amid instruction from the Colombian to find him a new club.

The former HJK man now finds himself both out of form, favour, and place at Ibrox, with his current position inside Rangers never having been lower.

His actions at Easter Road did not ingratiate himself to supporters at all, while Giovanni van Bronckhorst simply axed him from the squad to face PSV, knowing full well the striker was well off the motivation, pace and fitness to provide a meaningful contribution.

Manager Gio has suggested there will be talks about his future, and that he could have a future, but it is down to him.

But it seems Morelos himself wants out, and frankly, there are a lot of fans so seduced now by the brilliance of Antonio Colak that they’re not too bothered about the Colombian any longer either.

If it is true that the Super Lig giants are looking at signing him up, his market value supposedly is around £10M but being in the last year of his deal, Rangers may only get half for a player who has become dispensable and wants out.

Of course, some could point to French Eddie in the same shoes – wanted out, final year, and they still got approaching £20M.

Morelos is the same, and with Rangers’ finances we don’t need to sell him any more. If Rangers are to part company and ship him to Turkey, it should be on our terms and we should hold out for the highest fee feasibly possible.

Ajax just sold Antony for £85M to Man Utd, we could easily have got more for Calvin Bassey ourselves. Why sell Morelos for a modest amount?

Either way, we’ll see how things evolve with him over the next few days before the window shuts

  1. We will be lucky to get 5M for him, hasn’t been near a gym in months, too busy eating the kebabs, love and adore him still but his time is now up, move over Alfie, we have a new kid in town

  2. I’d like to see him stay on a 2 years
Deal with Kent . Win 56 and a good run in Europe then sell both for 10 million each , maybe more . Morelos is totally different to most strikers , his movement , hold up play and both feet ability make him special. He also knows how to handle himself and he definitely knows to score . Yes the petulance is a problem but when he’s on it he’s unique. My vote is keep him but get him sorted fitness and in the mental health side too.

  3. fenerbahce ,really ? so he thinks that is a move up in the world from glasgow rangers ? .This is gonna be a guy full of regrets in years to come and be asking himself why he so desperatley wanted away ,just dont get it EPL top 10 yes anywhere else no sense and only has himself to blame that gers and gio want him gone now .

  4. Love the guy but i think hes a bad influence on the team,to much carryon in his head, hes well out of shape, looks like hes out of puff,
I think hes been happy sitting on the bench n cashin in,
But weve been here before and he bounced back to the strong attacker that teams cant deal with,
So time well tell, but its up to him to get a fkn grip knuckledown and get fit and calm the fk down
    Its over to you buff,
One things for sure buff if you leave Rangers your on downward slope pronto and no more european football neither, think about it

  5. There is a natural time limit in every footballer’s contract when he reaches the end of it. Anguished cries of what about all those goals he scored a couple of seasons ago, don’t make any difference to the hard but realistic assessment that his time at our Club is up.

What can we reasonably expect from another Club for Morellos? To be honest , an overweight, out of condition player whose last full time match was months ago, is not going to attract strong money.
We got him for peanuts, around a million pounds, and he’s repaid us with many goals, and plenty of talking points along the way.
I think we’ve had our moneys worth, and should accept any offer above his original cost.
