Rangers dodge huge bullet as pathetic Veerman lashes out

We’ve been sitting on the Joey Veerman stuff for quite a while, but it’s time to strike. Yes, we all know about his absolutely pathetic interview last night, where he shamed his club as their fans did prematch, in his case showing bitterness and telling the world Rangers don’t deserve to be in the Champions League.

Oh where do we start with this, Joseph?

First of all, the shocking lack of sportsmanship and crass insults to your superior opponent shows your character to be EXACTLY what Ibrox Noise warned our audience about in January.

Secondly, your angst is clearly inspired by the fact Rangers rejected you after learning you got homesick and don’t want to leave Holland.

Thirdly the fact your legendary countryman Wesley Sneijder absolutely tore into you and blasted those comments, confirming Rangers completely deserved to go through.

And fourthly the fact you, personally, were absolutely rotten over both legs, making us deeply glad we dodged a bullet and that Big Bad John Lundstram is our man in your position. He destroyed you.

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Rangers pursued Veerman for a long time, even bidding £4M for him, but it was rejected. We didn’t go higher because of learning of his mental health issues.

We are not going to sit here and be crass ourselves to mock mental issues, or emotional issues, but Veerman’s behaviour post-match was a perfect mirror to PSV fans who shamed their club pre-match.

Even their manager wasn’t terribly gracious, not understanding why it ‘had gone wrong’ and offering no congratulations to his old friend Gio or Rangers.

End of the day, we earned our place rightfully, and PSV can do one. Pity, we had respect for them before this tie.

Not any more.

Jog on.
