Rabbi Matondo’s arrival at Rangers will be announced in the next 24-48 hours after the 21-year old winger completed his medical in Manchester and flew north to put pen to paper at long last.

Everything is now agreed, including a reported £2M transfer fee, and personal terms with the soon-to-be former Schalke attacker have been sorted meaning all that remains once he arrives in Govan will be the admin and paperwork.

Patrick Berger of Sport1 in Germany has been following the transfer and has confirmed the deal is in its final stages with the announcement imminent, so Rangers fans don’t have long to wait at all before the Wales international is revealed as a new signing.

It’s been a pretty swift negotiation really, and while he’s not been an exclusive RW his whole career, that is his strength and this would be the long-standing RW solution Rangers have needed – worth remembering Gerrard never bothered his backside signing a RW, while Gio in his first two windows has brought in two.

So hopefully Matondo is the big success he has the potential to be, and we await the official word.
