If Rangers are prepared to meet Angers’ £6M asking price for Angelo Fulgini, Rangers will get their man, after respected France Football journalist Nabil Djellit confirmed the Famous are in pole position to secure the French attacking midfielder, but that German side Mainz are also strongly in the picture too.

It is thought that Rangers are Fulgini’s preference, but it’s all down to who meets Angers’ asking price, or at least, who gets closest to it who will get the playmaker.

Rangers see him as a direct replacement for the departed Aribo, and he does very much play the same role – it’s a position the club urgently need another body for, such is the sudden poverty of options – just young Lowry is in the frame, but at present he’s working on fitness and hasn’t featured heavily in Portugal beyond gym work.

So Fulgini would be a bit of a boon for Rangers to get – another one who might not be sensational, but has a lot of experience of Ligue 1 which is a very high level indeed, with his stats the season before last being really rather good – 10 goals 4 assists in 34 appearances.

Will Rangers get their man?

We’ll see if our offer gets accepted.
