Rangers could finally be ready to solve the long-standing RW problem with a bid for Schalke’s Wales international Rabbi Matondo, 21.

The attacker, currently just having completed a season on loan in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, is under contract at the Germans till next summer, and the Bundesliga cracks have reportedly decided to sell him and cash in rather than lose for nothing next year.

The £3M rated winger had a solid career for Cercle Brugge, with 10 goals and 2 assists in 27 outings and would certainly be a useful addition to Rangers’ ranks, with a very healthy 10 caps for his country for good measure.

At just 21, this lad has the future at his feet, and he is all about potential, some of which he’s started to show in Belgium.

A product of the Man City Academy, former Rangers DoF Mark Allen will be very familiar with this lad and he can even boast some appearances in the Bundesliga itself.

He is a raw talent, with a tonne of potential, and much of that could be realised at Ibrox – could he be the RW we’ve searched for?

All in good time.
