Rangers and our fans have been given a giant boost for Wednesday after fears over wearing the away or third shirt for the final were put to bed and it was confirmed Rangers will wear the traditional blue, with the only caveat being blue shorts & socks instead of the black, white and red below the waist.

While we’d obviously rather see the proper full Rangers kit as it should be, a potential kit clash caused an issue and Eintracht are frustratingly given the home designation for this final.

But going all blue is about as good as it could have got as a compromise and crucially Rangers will have the proper top on, and that makes all the difference.

We had genuine fear of that pretty ugly violet kit being used, and while that’s not an excuse, per se, having a rotten kit doesn’t exactly help morale.

So while the all blue isn’t precise, it’s priceless to have the blue top and that’s what we’re happy with.

It’s pretty much all set up now, and the referee has been confirmed too.

Bring on Seville.
