We have to admit the latest bungle from the Rangers board has left us scratching our heads, again.

Last year, the unfurling of 55 was easily the most underwhelming title win in SPL history, with Douglas Park doing the flag to absolutely no ceremony at all.

It was, simply, pathetic, and a sham in comparison to what this club deserved after THAT journey. The board let everyone down with that. And then the Old Firm friendly?! Let’s not even go there.

And now, 150 years of the club have passed and the board again screw up by failing to register in time with the SFA the special white kit our forefathers began the club with a century and a half ago.

Even on RTV both Clive Tyldesley and Gordon Smith were bewildered at the lack of white kit, with no explanation either could give on where it was or what happened to it.

It was another bungle by this board, plain and simple, a board which is looking increasingly under pressure and making bad decision after bad decision.

We’re getting a bit fed up by how inept the suits seem to be at running Rangers these days – while Martin Bain and co were far from perfect, the club was run fairly efficiently. Sure, Bain was lampooned for his tan, and the sight of him often wound supporters up, but the club wasn’t run badly.

But these days executive decisions seem to be shambolic and there’s a real lack of connection now between the board and the fans.

William Struth knew more than most the importance of having a board behind him, a board he could trust.

This board is doing everything it can these recent days to make itself look completely untrustworthy and unfit for purpose.
