Ryan Jack has returned to the Scotland fold amid Steve Clarke’s announcement for the upcoming qualifiers.

The dynamic midfielder, out for over a year with recurrent issues, finally regained fitness a month or two ago and has been gently easing his way back into the side, and his return to Rangers affairs has caught the attention of Clarke who’s brought him back into the NT.

Of course, we urge major caution over this – Clarke’s rotten management of Jack was a major reason for his injury issues in the first place, so we’re very wary that this man is the right boss to be in charge of Jack at all.

And naturally as well with his only just getting fitness back we’re sceptical that he’s actually ready for international football anyway.

That all said, Jack may pull out regardless, citing the fact he’s not actually fully fit yet – he’s only been properly back for a few weeks and hasn’t managed a string of matches either, so he might be cautious himself.

But if he thinks he’s ready and he’s willing to take the risk on a clueless manager, sure, why not.

It’s his career at the end of the day.
