Morelos January Celtic farce set to be repeated

History is set to repeat itself as Alfredo Morelos got called up by the hapless Reinaldo Rueda for the upcoming qualifiers, with no guarantee he’ll get any game time and the strong chance he’ll be late in returning for the meeting of Celtic.

In January Morelos was infamously called up to Rueda’s diabolical qualifying double header, with frustration over just how badly we’d miss him and the compounding factor he didn’t get to play a minute.

Unfortunately Rueda promised he was willing to do it again, and has indeed called the South American up, for yet more air miles, and yet more absence of any strong chance of playing.

This will then lead to difficulties for him getting back to face Celtic as he’ll be up against something of a race against time, with his return not likely till early on Friday.

Rangers host the Parkhead side on that Sunday.

This gives him barely one and a half days to actually prepare for Celtic, which is no time at all, limiting just how effective he can be.

All so he can have no minutes for his country and leave everyone frustrated.

The Morelos farce of January really was a disgrace, and how Rueda still has his job is something of a mystery.

And now it looks like history could repeat itself.

Marvellous.
