Alfredo Morelos has once again been hailed the best in Europe after yet more UEFA stats revealed he was the best-performing forward in the competition this weekend.

Beating off a host of other luminaries in the Europa League, the Colombian hitman was number one for domestic performances, in a harking back to late 2019 when he was top of the scoring charts in the competition and his market value reached new heights as a result.

Ibrox Noise got a bit excited back then and suggested a €120M value wasn’t impossible if someone like Coutinho or Suarez was worth that kind of cash, but we will admit his numbers are rocketing again, both value and statistics.

It shows what Rangers have when Alfie is on his game.

When in the zone, Morelos is unstoppable and by some distance the best in Scotland, and could easily handle the PL in the future, if he still wants that move at some point.

But for at least until the summer (when the transfer nonsense will inevitable resume) he’s all ours and stomping all over Europe again.

Well played.
