Devastating boost for Rangers should give Ross County no chance

He's happy enough with these surfaces. Interesting change....

Rangers could be set for one of the strongest starting XI selections in recent memory after the arrivals in Govan of two players who can elevate our team to a new level.

Joe Aribo’s return from Cameroon and Amad Diallo’s signing from Man Utd finally set up our attack in the near-best condition it could enjoy, with only Alfredo Morelos’ current international call up hindering Rangers from being in the best possible state.

If we look where we are:

McGregor in goals, a back four of Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun and either Barisic or Bassey, likely Barisic, with a possible midfield two of Scotty Arfield, Glen Kamara and Ryan Jack, before Ryan Kent, Joe Aribo and Diallo make up the attack behind Fashion Sakala.

Only Morelos is missing to make this close to the best XI Rangers have maybe had since the days of Walter Smith – it’s that strong at present.

The question is, can it deliver on the pitch?

It will need time of course, and even having the heavy artillery doesn’t mean it all fires perfectly first time, but squad-wise and first-team wise we’re not doing that badly.

In fact, better than not that badly. All we need is for it to click into gear on the pitch.
