Rangers have been given a huge boost following the confirmed recovery and return to action of stalwart midfielder Scott Arfield.

The 32-year old, such a reliable performer since joining 3 years ago, had been suffering niggling injuries over the end of spring and had to miss the last few games. He also had not been part of the early stages of training.

But it’s been confirmed he’s back in, and fully fit again, and ready for tomorrow’s trip to Tranmere.

The clash, at 12:00 in the afternoon, gives Gers fans some Saturday football featuring the Famous for the first time in an age, and the Canada international, who was not available for his country at the Gold Cup, is now fit and ready to go having seemingly shaken off his issues.

It’s an excellent fillip for the club, given Arfield’s grafting but no lack of quality, and having his leadership back in the side not to mention running and midfield link up play will be a welcome return for both club and player.

There had been some small doubts about his fitness going into the CL qualifiers in 3 weeks, but those fears have been dispelled after he got stuck in at Auchenhowie again.

A welcome boost.
