Auchenhowie absence: loaned out yet again?
Stevie G delivers a brilliant update for Gers fans.

Doubts have been raised about the Rangers future of attacking midfielder Kai Kennedy after the 19-year old was not only absent from all training at Auchenhowie but was linked with yet another loan, only this time to an as-yet unnamed SPL side.

While this is being spun as development in the SPL, we know from experience that when Steven Gerrard likes a young player, he keeps that player – Nathan Patterson never came close to a loan out and instead was retained to keep the experience of match day at Ibrox.

It’s been different for Kennedy.

Despite successful loan spells at Raith and ICT, he’s being lined up for another move out, and while it would be to a higher level, we’re not sure what difference that makes when Glenn Middleton is almost certainly returning to St Johnstone too.

Is his future at Rangers under question? He signed a new two-year deal, but questions have been asked whether he might have been one of the ‘good holiday’ players Stevie wasn’t too happy with on their return to training, and the notion of attitude will always hang over him.

Benefit of the doubt at this stage, of course, and the kid is a talent.

Whether he’s a talent that’ll make it at Ibrox is another question.
