Rangers to make move for £4M Scotland striker?

As Rangers fans may know, Hibs’ Kevin Nisbet is the latest name to be linked with a move to Govan. In truth the Easter Road hitman is probably the best striker outside of the Old Firm these days, in fact there’s no argument he is.

He’s caused Rangers quite a few problems and he’s said to have a market value of around £4M. His goal rate for a modestly-decent Hibs side is impressive for sure and he’s a big lad at just 24.

He will only get better.

Now, if his name was Kevano Nesbitto and he was doing this in Serie B for some high-flying promotion side, there would be no doubting his ability.

‘Scouts doing a tremendous job’ or ‘eye for a gem’ fans would say about this exciting new Sardinian striker nailing 14 goals for Empoli and on the verge of the national team.

But because he’s Scottish and called Kevin Nisbet he’s regarded as clearly not good enough to improve the club, despite the track record he has and the age he’s hitting.

Alfredo Morelos, at a much lower level than the SPL, Finland, scored 16 in 30, much the same really as Nisbet in the SPL (12 in 30). Their records are similar but Nisbet is becoming an international and he already knows the SPL.

So is he good enough? If Stevie thinks he is, if the scouts and management think he is, and we think he’s worth paying the big money for, then we absolutely defer to their judgement on this one.

A high quality track record in our league is a valuable asset, and time will tell if Nisbet is the real deal or not.

£4M says he probably is.

  1. Not for me thanks, he’s decent but not at our level both league or European . A Morelos replacement he is not . Hopefully there is a plan B should Morelos be sold .

    • Agree with Bill B not good enough for Rangers will do OK for Hibs or a Championship team in England. Would be behind Roofe Sakala Itten and even Defoe if Morelos goes and 4m would be better spent elsewhere

  2. I thought he was worth a punt before he went to Hibs. Now at £4m it’s no longer a punt but a serious investment. I think £4m could be better spent elsewhere.
PS: Would Hibs do a player swap for Barker haha!!!
