Ibrox Noise noted with a spot of amusement Ondřej Kúdela’s appeal. It’s ridiculous, of course, and the case is open and shut, but then, it would be hypocritical to slam Praha for this one given Rangers exploited our own system in similar ways to try to free Nathan Patterson.

In both cases, the outcome is absolute and they’re guilty, but this is one occasion we can’t begrudge Praha playing the system and trying to free their man up.

Of course, the man is guilty as sin, or Glen Kamara is a liar – and there’s not a person on earth who knows of Kamara and is equally aware of the Eastern Bloc who thinks the latter.

Kudela’s guilty, the world knows it, and the only ones denying it are he and his club and its fans.

But again, if there’s a system to be played, it’s worth playing.

Sure, it would have been more dignified and in better taste had he just left it alone – took his medicine like a man.

But then our Nathan Patterson and the others did not, so we’re in absolutely no position to debate it.

Does it affect Rangers? Technically yes – the case is ongoing, and should he inexplicably win his appeal, it will make a further mockery of UEFA’s sense of ‘justice’.

So it’s one we will definitely keep a keen eye out.
