Rangers’ injury/absence list has sadly mounted a little after Joe Aribo, Ryan Jack and Bongani Zungu all joined Niko Katic on the sidelines for varying reasons.

Aribo fell foul of illness the past 48 hours and had to miss out last night, Jack continues with his knock picked up v Aberdeen, and Zungu came back from international duty with his own ailment and probably won’t be seen into well into next month.

It does mean Stevie G’s resources are spread a little thinner, with last night’s bench being a little weaker than Rangers have been recently able to boast of, and of course he can’t bulk it up with George Edmundson or Jordan Jones as neither is available till the very end of next month.

So in total six men are now missing for various reasons, and it’s maybe not the best time for this to happen.

There is, however, a tonne of quality still there – last night’s starting XI remained impressive, and (nearly) managed to do the job, but that drop off to the bench, usually so minimal, is a little more noticeable at the moment.

Sooner the six are all fully available the better.
