The boss could have the lot....

Following Steven Gerrard’s confirmation Alfredo Morelos’ head has been turned, he’s lost focus and doesn’t look like himself now, new signing Cedric Itten could be in line for a surprise start at Ibrox this afternoon.

The Swiss forward comes with an excellent record for both his country and his ex-club St Gallen, and while his early performances for Rangers, admittedly all just brief cameos, weren’t exactly sparkling, his rival for the 9 shirt losing his way a tad lately might just be the opening the new man needs to install himself as the natural first choice.

Kemar Roofe is still working on fitness, but stands a slim chance of involvement too, but it’s Itten who just lacks match sharpness who could start in Morelos’ place with the Colombian on the bench and maybe coming on later to prove himself.

Itten arrived at a cost of around £3M, and was chosen ahead of former Livi striker (now QPR) Lyndon Dykes, to the chagrin of some fans, but the new Rangers striker could win fans’ hearts if he starts and puts in a shift today.

But will Gerrard be bold enough to make that call?

We shall see.
