UEL group debuts for three new signings – predicted Rangers XI for Feyenoord

Facing Dutch sides is never easy, especially given the technical quality they clearly possess – and Steven Gerrard and Rangers will need to be wary of all the threats Feyenoord pose when it comes to the XI selected.

Ibrox Noise brings you our predicted XI for who will start tonight.

Goal is usual. No surprise.

Defence should, unless those bizarre rumours are true, be Tavernier, Goldson, and Katic but left back is tricky. Gerrard will want someone capable of defending at a high level, but will also want attacking quality. Attacking quality is probably not Andy Halliday’s forte, while Borna Barisic’s delivery, when he produces it, is sumptuous. Jon Flanagan is probably not match fit anyway. So we’d plump for Barisic, marginally here.

Midfield should see Steven Davis pulling the strings in the usual place, with Joe Aribo in front and likely Scott Arfield deputising in AM for Ryan Jack again.

Front three will be Barker on the left, Morelos up top, and Ojo on the right. Which would be three debuts at this level of the competition – Aribo, Barker and Ojo.

So your Ibrox Noise XI:

McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Barisic; Davis, Aribo, Arfield; Ojo, Morelos, Barker.

We couldn’t call this one, in truth.

Let’s just hope this group of players deliver something worthy of Fernando.
