Ibrox confirmed safe. For now.

Ever since news broke of Mike Ashley’s
potential lockdown on Ibrox as equity security for a potential £10M loan (as
well as that of Murray
Park and the condition of
a further two directorial appointments) fans’ outrage has peaked and membership
to supporters’ shareholding scheme Rangersfirst has vastly increased.
However, tonight Sky Sports
Sources, who are, let us face it, quite reliable on sports matters, and further
media outlets have revealed Rangers’ board will not use Ibrox as security on a
loan from Sports Direct.
Naturally this is slightly sneaky
and semantics reveal it does not exclude loans from anyone else, but that said
only Sports Direct, or Mike Ashley as they are better known, actually wanted
Ibrox as part of such a deal.
Safe to say fears over Ibrox’
future have definitely been quelled by this news, if not 100% eliminated, but
it is a start for sure.
Ibroxnoise.co.uk would also like to
take this opportunity to give credit and thanks to Celtic for a fine gesture
today in donating £10,000 to Fernando Ricksen, his family, and MND Scotland.
A genuinely good moment of
decency, all-too-rare in the Scottish game nowadays.

  1. There will be another angle. Ibrox is not rezonable, so may have been a red herring, so that we don't get too upset when we lose Murray Park. Not that it is producing many players that the managers have wanted anyway!
We need a management structure that will fasttrack youth to make the most of Murray Park.
I don't think Ashley wants to destroy Rangers – he doesn't care one way or the other. As long as we all buy replica strips from SportsDirect.

    • Listen his goal all along has been to lease back easy money he doesnt cate or want to run another team if he did he would ve not let mcleod go no hell give it over to park etc and well have to spend 2m plus before we kick a ball every year and he still have retail tied up or rent goes up guys a wideo so lets get sarver involved otherwise well be skint time an again so we the punters will have to pay again an again

    • And the world is flat, Nessy and her family are alive and well, Santa does deliver all the Xmas presents and dispite being severely impacted by the great recession the tooth fairy is still leaving 50p per tooth under your pillow.
