We’re hardly enthusiastic about this, but we’re going to give the ratings a shot after Rangers’ debacle today.

Let’s get on with it…

Butland:

Three goals shipped again, and once more he could have done better with at least two of them. He’s conceded 6 in two matches and his own stock has tumbled badly. He’s another to pick a horrible time to lose form. Did make a decent save or two at least. 4

Tavernier:

Well he scored a penalty or something again? 2

Goldson:

We’re starting to deeply resent the sight of him. Nearly gifted a goal playing onside inside 40 seconds, and remains untouchable regardless of what he does. 0

Souttar:

Earned the only ‘outfield’ goal we scored, is having to do the same as any Goldson partner which is do the work of two men. His hands are tied but his head is high. 6

Barisic:

His usual passive invisible self. Offered next-to-nothing. Looks like a player ready to leave. 1

Lunny:

Contract nonsense is clearly getting to him and looks distracted. Hardly did a thing, just passed the ball sideways. 4

Dowell:

Now, in fairness, he had a couple of driving runs and managed a pass or two but all his good stuff was inside the first 20 minutes and he faded aggressively. 5

Sima:

He did work hard, but he was starved of service. He’s actually looking a bit more composed these days for his time out and he managed 6 shots. 6

Silva:

Goodness. What a fall from mediocrity this boy has suffered. A shadow of the modestly-above-average player he was threatening to be for a while, he’s now absolutely abysmal. 4

Cantwell:

Not much competition, true, but by far and away Rangers’ best player. It wasn’t even close. He worked, tracked, dug, and passed well, and nearly scored. Didn’t deserve to be on the losing side. 7

Dessers:

A big miss his detractors will love, but his work rate is still there. Like Sima he didn’t get much service. Sadly wasteful with what he did get. 5

Subs:

Not a single one made a real difference, which was predictable given the malaise was long set in. N/A

Manager:

Unfortunately Big Phil’s star’s sparkle has deserted him, and this was officially his worst 90 as Rangers manager. He was as much a disgrace as the players, picking yet another bad XI, making bizarre subs, then ignoring Don Cowie in the handshake at the end. He got yet another one all wrong and is now acting without the dignity we expect from our manager as well. Dreadful. 0
