Rangers could be in line for a stunning windfall after it emerged from sources in Holland that Feyenoord, currently interested in Bojan Miovski, are also looking at Rangers’ Sam Lammers, currently impressing at Utrecht.
The De Kuip giants, champions of Holland under Arne Slot, will be undergoing major change this summer as their manager departs and their squad undergoes a revamp, and they are very much looking at £8M-rated Miovski, while more importantly for Rangers Lammers has come to their attention to.
Signed by Michael Beale for £3M, he crashed spectacularly at Ibrox with a meagre goal return, and is keen to remain in Holland for the rest of his career after how well his Utrecht loan has gone, but it’s unclear if the Stadion Galgenwaard outfit can afford him in the summer.
That’s opened the door for the Eredivisie champions who are interested.
Price?
It’s clear he’s surplus at Rangers, isn’t part of our plans going forward, Clement doesn’t rate him and he doesn’t want to be at the club, but it’s still a four-year deal so his signature has value.
Add to that his goal return in Holland and Rangers could easily double their money if not more.
In Holland, Lammers is playing like the £8M player Atalanta thought they’d signed, so Rangers could well be able to charge that same number for his contract.
Which would yield a superb £5M profit if the club can play its hards right.
Feyenoord have a few quid, and they are yet to replace departed Danilo, who of course, went to Rangers for £6M.
It would be an amusing full circle again if having sold Cyriel Dessers to Cremonese (who then joined Rangers) then Danilo to Rangers directly, they then sign Lammers FROM Rangers.
And it would play into Rangers’ hands perfectly.
Hopefully this deal happens.
