Philippe Clement praises Rangers after claiming they ‘bossed’ Dundee

Philippe Clement has well and truly collapsed into the Michael Beale school of talking bollocks after claiming his side bossed Dundee and he got the reaction he wanted.

The Belgian manager was talking after yet another excruciating display and result, and his ridiculous words may be the first hint that he might not be the right manager for the club.

With the following nonsense we simply can’t trust a word he says, if this is actually what he feels:

“About the result you can say (we didn’t get a reaction), but on the other things we did get the reaction. So, we were the boss today all game. They kept a structure and they created enough chances to win the game, but the ball didn’t go in. That’s the story of today. There was a good goalkeeper on the other side also who made a few good saves, they saved a few balls on the line. So, that part of luck was not on our side and because of that you don’t get a result.”

Nope, sorry, shove off.

This isn’t the stuff Rangers fans are going to buy, Phil, you are trying to mug supporters with this utter rot and you’re going to follow Beale out the door before long if you keep this kind of delusion up.

We saw with our own eyes that this was a terrible, ponderous display in which Rangers were second-best to most of the match and which Dundee could have easily won.

That early chance (once again more hapless defending from Tav and Goldson, then the painfully out of position Sterling) set the tone for what was to come, and it’s evident Clement is out of his depth.

He’s never dealt with this kind of pressure before, and is no longer speaking like a Rangers manager.

When the results were better, if maybe not the performances, he could get away with stuff like this, to an extent, but to try to mug Rangers fans with an interview like that is pretty much disgraceful.

We have not an ounce of trust in him, because he can’t be trusted to tell fans the truth any more, if he ever could.

The moment you take the supporters for fools, it’s done, for us.

But even worse, if he actually believes what he said tonight, that’s almost a bigger crime.

Clement appears to accept mediocrity.

Well mediocre isn’t good enough at Rangers.
