Three players back fit for Rangers in massive injury boost
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - OCTOBER 04: Leon Balogun of Rangers warms up prior to the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Ross County at Ibrox Stadium on October 04, 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland. Rangers have been given a MASSIVE boost after Leon Balogun’s diagnosis came back way way less severe than feared, and the big Nigerian should be back in time for Ross County next week, while Ben Davies was ruled fit again and Ryan Jack also returns.

After the horrible swelling on the former Werder defender’s face, he’d been feared out for weeks or even months, Danilo-style, with a similar injury, but the prognosis is 10x more positive and Balogun will return within “7-10 days”.

Speaking at his presser, the manager said:

“Leon (Balogun) went to see a specialist, I expect to see him back next week. Unsure if Ross County or the weekend but he will return with a mask. Sometimes you need a few sessions to get comfortable in the mask.”

But definitely not the potential two months feared when he was hauled off with such a nasty injury.

It also hugely, hugely helps Rangers’ near-defensive crisis, with Ben Davies now back, Rangers have a bunch of insurance at the back and four central defenders (mostly) fit again.

For immediate it’s still Goldson and Souttar but knowing Davies and Balogun are right there as well for fitness is extremely reassuring and thankfully Rangers have significant depth at the back again.

Rangers’ defence remains comfortably the best in the country, and having the Nigerian and Englishman back fit again will help keep it that way.

So that’s definitely good news.
