Rangers fans vote on Kemar Roofe’s Ibrox future…

Rangers fans have been voting on whether Kemar Roofe should be given ‘one more chance’ to prove his fitness following yet another injury forced him off, with the latest one infamously ending his involvement after only 15 minutes.

The Jamaica international’s injury issues are infamous in that he’s only made 93 appearances (49 starts) since 2020, and Rangers supporters were asked on an Ibrox Noise poll if they wanted the club to give him another chance to prove himself.

Of 3500 votes so far, 69% (2394) believe Roofe should NOT get another chance, with only 709 votes believing he should. 320 votes weren’t sure.

This is fairly emphatic, and in truth very few of these votes believe Roofe is no good as a striker.

It’s just the sheer injury history with Rangers that he has.

That said, even before he joined Rangers he had something of a chequered past in that department, having missed quite a few Leeds and Anderlecht matches as well with various sprains and suchlike.

But his troubles at Rangers have been vast – just 49 starts in 4 years symbolised by a 15-minute cameo some weeks ago before getting injured while shooting sums up his problems and indeed his Rangers spell.

But of course, with what Ibrox Noise discussed yesterday on Filip Helander, how much of this is on Rangers’ medical staff?

We don’t know.

In terms of a new contract, zero chance. It won’t be renewed, and Roofe will go to some modest European side and be completely fit for the rest of his career, but there you go.

Rangers fans have ‘had enough’ of it all, and it’s time for Roofe to move on.

Shame really.
