Clement Rangers injury update reveals latest on Jack, Roofe and Cifu
Not thrilled at his injuries - no change there then....

Rangers manager Philippe Clement gave an update on Rangers’ injury status, and the update is that there’s no update.

Ryan Jack and Jose Cifuentes remain unavailable, although he hopes to have them back before the winter break, but he took no pleasure in revealing no other player unavailable for Sunday would be at his disposal tomorrow and confirmed Kemar Roofe still can’t play 90 minutes.

Which means the likes of Nico Raskin, Danilo and Tom Lawrence remain medium-to-long term absent, with potentally all three missing the rest of the season.

It’s not ideal, but with the squad he does have, Clement got to the last 16 of the Europa League and won the Scottish League Cup all at the first time of asking, so it’s maybe not as fatalistic as it seems.

The one good piece of news?

No new injuries as of Sunday, which is not to say there won’t be any in training before tomorrow, albeit we doubt the players will be heavily put through their paces at Auchenhowie for fear of risking further injury and tiring them out.

No, the squad for Wednesday is set to be the same as Sunday although Clement has promised there will be changes, given the players he has simply cannot play every single match over the next two weeks.

This means he may well call upon the likes of Sterling, McCausland and young Bailey Rice (who got a notable mention today) to play big parts in the next few matches.

This squad, already not terribly good, is punching well above its weight thanks to this manager, and it’s injury-hit so a bit on the thin side too.

Sadly, we cannot rely on any of the injury cases to return for tomorrow.

Clement must once again p*ss with the c*ck he has.
