Rangers fans have strongly voted against any return for Ryan Kent to Ibrox, should the opportunity arise, after the Fenerbahce winger was confirmed as leaving Turkey this winter.
After it was revealed that that Rangers representatives have spoken to Kent, his club and his agent, supporters were polled by Ibrox Noise to gain their view overall, and the numbers, while not as overwhelming as the favour towards bringing back Antonio Colak (84%) were still strong.
Of 750 responses at the time of writing, 72% do not wish to see Kent return to Govan, with 28% favouring it.
There is a general consensus among the majority that Kent downed tools in his final season at Ibrox, and while Ibrox Noise explained a lot of the reason for his downturn in form, it hasn’t stopped those fans turning on the winger big time.
Indeed, we’d argue he’s among the most hated of departed players, with so few fans having anything nice to say about him, which we find very harsh indeed given he couldn’t have done less to antagonise this club, aside the misguided attire on his leaving night.
But that’s just our view, other fans see it differently, that they believe he ditched the club and stopped playing a long time ago then left for free.
Of course, that’s on the club as well for not offering him a new deal long ago, which Rangers on the whole have been guilty of doing for a long time.
But back to the main point, the fans for the majority don’t want Kent back.
That said, if Philippe Clement wants the boy, they’ll just have to suck it up.
