Philippe Clement has taken his second cryptic swipe at former manager Michael Beale by slaughtering the squad balance, following a disappointing draw at Pittodrie.
Speaking about the makeup of his group, Clement suggested there are areas distinctly lacking, and others overly heavily endowed, and these will all need to be improved.
Whether this can happen in January we’re not sure, because that is a difficult month entirely, but he said:
Clement hoping that Rangers can do this in January, but as we say, it’s a tricky month to be productive transfer-wise in.
In some positions, basically attack, he has too many players, and clearly he doesn’t have enough defenders or central/defensive midfielders, not to mention wingers.
Rangers’ ex-boss Michael Beale absolutely messed this squad up badly, wrecking the balance, binning the wingers and neglecting the defence entirely.
He set the club back years with such abominable work, and now Clement has to restore the balance and get the right equilibrium into the club.
Can it happen over January? That’s a long shot.
He went on:
Yes it is – but how much can materialise only time will tell. Can Rangers go into the second half of the season with a better-balanced squad.
We hope so!
Well when you canny beat the laydooners you know theres something amiss
The big man is not happy and he WILL sort it
