Kevin Muscat has suddenly become odds-on favourite at 1/2 at BetVictor to become next Rangers manager after odds plummeted in his favour over the past hour.

The shock change in numbers from a 7/1 status prior suggests either fans are betting on him in bulk in hope that he becomes new manager, or that something has happened inside Ibrox to hint at bookies having some insider information that gives them the edge.

BetVictor in this case, because no other bookies are yet going with this number, but if there’s any fire under this smoke, we expect the other odds to tumble as well.

Muscat is now clear fan favourite to get the job, with over 700 (48%) of 1500 Rangers fans voting his name on Ibrox Noise (numbers still rising), only Graham Potter is getting fractionally within range of this with 24%.

And the odd from BetVictor appear to reflect this.

Funnily enough Ibrox Noise was contacted by an associate with those numbers from the famous Bookie, and within half an hour they’d changed again.

So these are clearly heavily subject to alteration and while we bring you the latest and up to date as often as we can, it’s an ever-changing landscape.

But for now, for the first time, Muscat is outright odds-on.

That’s a big deal.
