So with the Ben Davies conundrum addressed, what WILL manager Philippe Clement select as his maiden Rangers’ European XI when his men take the field in Prague?
Ibrox Noise does our best to cobble a likely XI together:
Goals, obviously Butland.
Back four of Tavernier, Goldson, Souttar, and yes, Davies.
Midfield pairing of Lundstram and Raskin, with no Cifuentes available.
Forward three of Sima, Cantwell and Wright.
Striker of Dessers.
So your Ibrox Noise XI:
Butland; Tavernier, Goldson, Souttar, Davies; Lundstram, Raskin; Sima, Cantwell, Wright; Dessers.
We think it comes too early for Danilo to start, thought he’s coming close, and Dessers performed a lot better v Hibs than many fans dare to believe.
The pressure isn’t mega-on Philippe Clement – he’s having to polish that turd as per usual here, and doing so v Prague will be tougher than a middling Hibs.
But hopefully our man in the dugout can conjure a miracle and get a big result in Czechia. Two wins of three in the Europa League would be outstanding return for one of the worst transfer windows in Rangers’ history and would show just how strong Clement actually is as a manager.
Our faith is in him.
