Ok, back on planet earth, we have the first-ever Michael Beale European group match to contend with, and we’ll be honest, our expectations are pretty low.
We ran a poll and while the response was optimistic (we’ll report that one later) unfortunately we don’t share that positivity.
But onto the team.
So we know Raskin, Cantwell and Danilo will be nowhere to be seen, and there’ll be a change or two.
Butland in goals obviously, simple enough there.
Defence… Tavernier, Goldson, and Barisic. The question is the partner for Goldson, and it’s obviously between John Souttar and Ben Davies. Honestly, with this manager, we couldn’t even remotely call it. It should be Balogun and Souttar but that’s not possible, of course, so it’s Goldson and… this is a flip of a coin…
Midfield… well thanks to appalling injury and management, there are only three players available here. Lundstram, Jack and Cifuentes are the trio who will start.
Up front has a LOT of options, only Danilo missing, but of course the choices there are are not exactly firing on all cylinders.
Wright, Lawrence, Sima, Lammers, Matondo, Roofe, Dessers…
It’s likely to be Lawrence Roofe and Matondo or Sima.

Butland; Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic; Cifuentes, Lundstram, Jack; Lawrence, Roofe, Sima.
And that’s really about that.
I hope and pray l never hear the song “Lundstram is the best on earth” ever again, his standards have slipped massively and hoped we punted him during the summer there and if he is the best we have in midfield, God help us and hope and pray Beale won’t be with us too long either, one minute I’m over the moon he came back to us, now……its head in the hands stuff every game, all because the certain duo will never be dropped, hence why we have only won the league once in a millennium, Beale has to go, simple as
