Report made that Beale has told Rangers’ Fashion Sakala to leave

It is looking more and more likely now that Fashion Sakala has played his last game for Rangers and is working on his move out of the club, after The Fourth Official claimed the Zambian was not left at home on illness grounds for Hoffenheim, but has indeed been told he’s surplus and to find another club.

It’s well-known a sickness bug did break out at the Ibrox camp before the players flew to Germany, but it appears Sakala was not a victim of this, but of Michael Beale’s decision on his future, apparently deeming the ex-Oostende man to not be part of his forward plans for the club.

We will know a lot more if he’s not involved in the squad for the season-opener at Killie, albeit there is the chance he’s simply injured as well.

The TFO do get a lot right, they also get a lot wrong, but we absolutely do know a £4M offer is on the table from a Saudi Arabian club, which both the club and the player have reportedly previously rejected, but which Beale may be revisiting in order to fund the left-sided centre-back he so desperately needs.

If Rangers are to accept a Saudi offer, Sakala will be aware he’s not especially needed, particularly one at £4M rather than £10M+, so it’s not an offer Rangers simply can’t refuse.

So, what we know: £4M offer on the table, Sakala reportedly rejected it, he didn’t fly to Hoffenheim, TFO claiming Beale has dumped him.

The stories around it might not be true, but there’s no denying Sakala is not indispensable and Michael Beale has just signed three new strikers, with the Zambian and indeed Kemar Roofe now deputies in this area. Not to mention struggling Abdallah Sima as well, with Antonio Colak obviously moved on. Is Michael Beale trying to whittle the numbers down still?

Well the squad up front is a little bloated in truth, too many players there now, and Sakala is by no means a marquee asset.

We’ll see come next weekend if Sakala is to be involved, if he’s not already gone by then.

  1. Bad idea. Check out his performance compared to Matondo’s. Or in fact any of our strikers.

  2. If this is true I will not miss him. What seems apparent to me is Beale has waited until he’s got Danilo signed and then tells Sakala his services are no longer required. Slightly sneaky and a bit ruthless but then that seems to be Beale’s way. 💙💙
